Treatment Instructions
The doctors and staff at Princeton Endodontics are committed to the exceptional treatment and care of your needs. You may be assured that we will provide continued care from the time you first contact us until our services are no longer required.
All procedures will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work. A doctor is available for consultation at all times should a problem arise after your treatment.
After Completion of Root Canal Treatment
Upon completion of the root canal treatment, the root canal system will be permanently sealed. However, the outer surface will be sealed with a temporary restoration. A follow-up restoration must be placed to protect your tooth against fracture and decay. Please make an appointment with your restorative dentist within 5 weeks from the date of your treatment. A complete report of treatment will be sent to your restorative dentist.
For your root canal therapy to be a success, you must have your tooth permanently restored.
After Completion of the Apicoectomy Procedure
One week after this procedure you will need to return for your suture removal. This should take 15 minutes. Your dentist will be informed that your treatment is completed and a final radiograph will be sent to his/her office for your dental records along with a progress report of your treatment.
Six (6) months after this procedure, you will need to schedule an appointment with this office to have the tooth re-evaluated. You will receive notice in the mail urging you to make this appointment. During this visit a new x-ray will be taken to document the healed tooth and gum.
